On Wednesday evening myself and our Southampton Franchisee, Caroline Harrison, went to see our Hearing Dog for Deaf People puppy Neve in her training class. Working with her socialiser Doug she is already a very well behaved little girl and at just 14 weeks old is keen to explore and learn.

The training session run by Mandy, one of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s trainers, was a great opportunity to see how the charity approach training these soon to be life changers!

Everything was done at the speed of the pups, no rushing anything, letting the dogs feel confident with their surroundings and all of us stood their cooing over them, trying to resist picking them up for a cuddle!

Little Neve is an absolute delight. An inquisitive puppy who was keen to explore all of the objects and obstacles that were put down for her to sniff.

Being a typical Labrador she certainly knew that Doug had treats are rarely took her eyes off him in case she missed out! She is also a very thorough ear cleaner when she’s getting a cuddle – I had obviously missed a spot during my morning shower, thank you Neve for rectifying that!

So we’ll leave you with a little video of this gorgeous little pup and we’ll be sharing some photos again soon when I next catch up with Neve and Doug, until then enjoy cooing!
